Yes, because goodness knows Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has never thrown a political punch below the belt in the course of his career. Via The Hill:
The two senators bickered as Cruz rose to object to Reids motion to appoint conferees to a House-Senate budget committee.
He said Cruzs request to eliminate all taxes in a final House-Senate budget was absurd.
The senator from Texas was on the losing side now he wants us to adopt the losing sides view or we cannot go to conference, Reid said.
My friend from Texas is like a schoolyard bully, Reid added.
“He pushes everybody around and is losing and instead of playing the game according to the rules, he not only takes the ball home with him, but he changes the rules that way no one wins except the bully who tries to indicate to people that he has won.”
Cruz, a Tea Party darling whose rhetoric has sometimes raised eyebrows among Republicans, shot back that I wasnt aware we are in the schoolyard.
Reid cut him off saying enough.
Heh. Sen. Reid simply couldn’t bring himself to understand how it is that Republicans could possibly blocking an effort to go to conference on the budget — although Sen. Cruz’s concern was that the non-filibusterable conference report could be used to raise the nation’s debt ceiling, and he was asking that Reid amend his motion to go to conference to classify any provisions raising taxes and/or the debt ceiling as out of order before proceeding further — hence the apt display of schoolyard-style petulance.
Funny you should mention that though, Sen. Reid. Over the weekend, longtime Democratic strategist James Carville said of Sen. Cruz: “I think he is the most talented and fearless Republican politician I’ve seen in the last 30 years. And this guy has no fear. He just keeps plowing ahead. And he is going to be something to watch.”
To which Sen. Cruz responded on Fox News this afternoon that he was flattered by Carville’s kind comments, but to all of his haters out there, it’s just a little amusing that “a number of people have criticized me on the grounds of civility and, in particular, have insulted me while doing so,” no?
Harry Reid has no friends.
harry used to be a boxer<<
LMAO...Talk about a beard!
Hypocritical Harry. He’s the bully. The “Senior” senator can go home if he doesn’t like the contest of ideas.
Cruz is doing the job he was elected to do: stop the nation’s march towards tyranny (which Harry is hellbent on us falling into).
Takes one to know one, I guess....
What we have here is someone using Harry’s techniques back on him, and he does not like it. Too bad Harry. You should have been in jail long ago and only worrying about the bulls, not “bullies” like Cruz.
Memo to Harry: go back to your condo over at the Ritz and GFY.
who was 22 with?.....Maxine Waters?
Translation -
Reid: “He’s a Conservative so he’s a bad man.”
The sheeple are going to stop listening to these cries. All the Dems do is say things to make them think that conservatives are evil. Cruz has done nothing to back up Reid’s claim. He’s no bully. Reid is, though.
Color me completely non-impressed
Even with no formal boxing training, if some kind soul would lend him fifteen years to even things up, I'd happily climb into the ring with the vile maggot.
Masterful.
Reid can say anything he wants. Idiots are not responsible people.
He should have said, “I am not your friend”. That is that stupid Sean Vannity thing where he calls everyone his friend. I hate that. That word is reserved for a very few people.
Cruz is like the well armed sheep negotiating with Democrat wolves on the dinner menu......Listen and you’ll hear the wolves howl in protest that mutton is not being served......
Shut your festering gob you twit. Damn Harry, you won’t pass a MANDATED budget for over 5 years, but Cruz is the “bully”?
Maggots have more honor...
“Harry Reid strikes me more as a mobster than a politician although the distinction sometimes can be fine.”
Whorehouse Harry Reid, The Mormon Mobster! The Mormon Church, if it had and decency, would excommunicate this bastard!
When I see Dingy Harry waddle up to the podium with a wedgie up his ass, I’ll believe him.
Funny you should say that:
Dirty Harry Reid: The Mafia's "Mr. Clean Face" on the Nevada Gaming Commission
Why do I wish he’d said “If I was a schoolyard bully I’d already have given you your daily wedgie.”?
LOL — I was thinking much the same.
