How can this be constitutional when long ago mail order sales across state lines were ruled exempt under the Commerce Clause?

The only difference between mail order sales and internet sales is the method of merchant contact by the buyer, mail order is by mail or phone and internet is by internet or phone.

The delivery method is the same.

I think it’s because the USPS doesn’t get their piece of the action on the internet. Someone might ship by UPS or FedEx rather than the post office, and we can’t have that.

I think the bill also includes catalog and phone sales.

I agree. If the SCOTUS decision was correct in the first place, they’ll need to Amend the Commerce Clause following the Amendment process. This doesn’t do that.

Because now the Supreme court has given the gubmint unfettered control of what it wantrs to tax and force peopel to buy ignoring previous precedence set forth by the courts
