Haley Barbour on the Heritage report: "It's a political document. It's not serious analysis."
Jordan Fabian (@Jordanfabian) May 06, 2013
Ths morning the Heritage Foundation released a study estimating that amnesty will cost taxpayers at least $6.3 trillion. We can certainly understand why amnesty supporters are upset, but their criticisms of the study ring hollow.
Former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour calls the study a political document and not serious analysis but does not say what specifically is wrong with the methodology.
Sen. Jeff Flake also criticized the study, arguing that it does not take into account the economic benefits of immigration.
Here we go again. New Heritage study claims huge cost for Immigration Reform. Ignores economic benefits. No dynamic scoring.
Jeff Flake (@JeffFlake) May 06, 2013
Wrong:
Robert Rector says his study is a dynamic analysis. Shows that low-skill immigrants hurt low-skill citizen wages by 10%

Rep. Paul Ryan piled on:
In a statement provided to CQ Roll Call, the Wisconsin Republican had this to say about the Heritage report that the Senate bills amnesty component would cost taxpayers $6.3 trillion over several decades: The Congressional Budget Office has found that fixing our broken immigration system could help our economy grow. A proper accounting of immigration reform should take into account these dynamic effects.
Wrong again:
Heritage study does account for economic benefits of amnesty. They predict tax revenues will go up by $3.1 trillion.
Conn Carroll (@conncarroll) May 06, 2013
And please, Rep. Ryan, dont rely on the CBOs estimates of costs during the next 10 years:
DeMint compares Schumer-Rubio to Obamcare. Says cost explosion hidden outside 10 year CBO window.

We are open to the possibility that the Heritage Foundations analysis is flawed, but these are not good-faith criticisms. In fact, given how weak these arguments are, we doubt Barbour, Flake, or Ryan have even read the study. (It is 92 pages long and was released just this morning.)
I like Haley Barbour, but what are the chances he read the 90 pg @Heritage report before sounding off? ow.ly/kKU8q

We look forward to serious critiques of the studys methodology, particularly from those who havent been on the payroll of the Mexican government.
what I wouldn’t give to transplant the 3rd world community of Cactus, TX to that lovely Lilly white neighborhood where Paul Ryan lives and his kids go to school... and then find out what this jackass has to say about immigration
Thank you.
Screw Paul Ryan.
Give me...
Jim DeMint
Sarah Palin
Scott Walker
Ted Cruz
...in any order you want.
Can’t see why he didn’t evolve on that too. So it wouldn’t surprise me if he has one now. Or maybe he always has. Can’t be sure with a proven liar.
Must have been desperation to get the "won" out of office.
I admit I was conned.
Thank you, Bratch.
DeMint is iffy at best (love of Mitt) but the rest are solid ...so far...
Why is that stinker Flake representing Arizona?
Club for Growth PAC Endorses Jeff Flake for Senate.
Sara Palin endorses Jeff Flake for Senate.
That’s the problem. Ryan has no fear of scum in HIS neighborhood. Screw the rest of us!
Romney selecting him should have been our first clue.
Dayum, we missed it.
We all make mistakes. Even me. I was 4 at the time. But never since ;)
Are there any conservatives in politics?
I wouldn’t say missed it so much as wanting to believe something different.
A lot if Republicans are confused, thinking that someone whose temperament and lifestyle are conservative must somehow also be politically conservative. And also confused about the difference between conservative and Constitutional.
” Are there any conservatives in politics?”
NOT an unintelligent question anymore!!
Outside Palin and Cruz and Walker? No. Not that I can find. No one else demonstrates any conservatism.
He went cozy with Romney right from the start.
I was taken aback by that, but like you said, “wanted to believe” he was rock solid.
IDIOTS.
Hey, when the alternative is a commie pos it's easy.
**Sigh**
Three is no where near a majority, we’re in deep doo-doo.
And the GOP has rode that horse to great effect overall. Our votes showed the GOP we would moderate. So they did what they wanted with our apparent blessing. They moderated.
