Huckabee: Benghazi will drive Obama from office

By MACKENZIE WEINGER | 5/6/13 2:50 PM EDT

Mike Huckabee on Monday predicted that President Barack Obama won’t finish out his second term in light of the “cover-up” of the deadly attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi and the former Arkansas governor called the affair “more serious than Watergate.” “I believe that before it’s all over, this president will not fill out his full term. I know that puts me on a limb,” the former Arkansas governor said on “The Mike Huckabee Show.” “But this is not minor. It wasn’t minor when Richard Nixon lied to the American people and worked with those in his administration to cover-up what really happened in Watergate. But, I remind you — as bad as Watergate was, because it broke the trust between the president and the people, no one died. This is more serious because four Americans did in fact die.”

Huckabee, however, said his predication about Obama “will not happen” if the Democrats seize control of the House and retain control of the Senate next year.

“If they’re able to get control of the House and maintain the Senate, this will not happen because they won’t let it happen,” Huckabee said.

“And they won’t let it happen not because they’re protecting just the president, they’re trying to protect their entire political party. If they try to protect the president and their party, and do so at the expense of the truth, their president and their party will go down. Now, here’s what I’m going to suggest will happen — as the information and facts begin to come out, it will become so obvious that there was a concerted and very, very deliberate attempt to mislead this country and its people to lie to Congress, as well as to you.”

And as the truth about the deadly attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi emerges, Huckabee said, “they will have lost the right to govern.”

“The highest levels of people in the United States government all the way up to the president knew that what they did tell us was not true,” he said. “And they continued to tell it throughout an election season and beyond, and they’ve tried to change the subject. And when the facts come out, they will not be able to stand. They will have lost the right to govern.”

What happened with Benghazi is not a “political issue” — “this goes all the way to the heart of the integrity of the United States government,” Huckabee said.

“When a president lies to the American people and is part of a cover-up, he cannot continue to govern,” Huckabee said. “And as the facts come out, I think we’re going to see something startling. And before it’s over, I don’t think this president will finish his term unless somehow they can delay it in Congress past the next three and a half years.”

Morally bankrupt Obama gave a UN speech to the world blaming an American and his video for the violence.

This week goes to Mexico and blames Americans for their violence...

He ignored warnings about the Boston bomber....seems to hate this country

“Assuming a GOP senate majority of 52/48 or so which is probably the best we can hope for, you would still need another 15 or so Dems to vote to boot their guy out of office.

In your dreams, Mike.”

I agree 100%. In 1999 45 of the 55 Republican Senators voted to convict Bill Clinton of perjury. None of the Dems voted to convict. If ten Republican’s couldn’t vote to convict Clinton of perjury, in the face of overwhelming evidence, why would anyone believe today’s Senate would vote to convict Barack Obama of anything?

Huckabee said, “they will have lost the right to govern.”

But not to rule.

These people are way ahead of themselves. At this stage never jump to politics and predictions of an actual outcome. All anyone should be concerned with is uncovering the truth

I think he was the first to say Aug 1 and called in appreciation day - but the restaurants were already packed more than usual with sympathetic supporters and it was a huge wave in the making. A little like Rick Santelli and the Tea Party - Santelli named it, but the movement was already boiling over.

I think he genuinely hates this country.

I also think he’s auditioning for his next role, Secretary-General of the UN.

The Huckster must be smoking some wacky weed. 50% of the American people keep asking “Who the hell is this Ben Gazzi guy they keep talking about?” and in the end don’t give a rats ass if Obama lied or not as long as they keep getting “free stuff” from Uncle Sugar.

I also think he’s auditioning for his next role, Secretary-General of the UN.

1. No American will ever be Secretary-General of the UN. It is an unwritten rule that no country with a veto on the Security Council may have one of its representatives serve as Secretay General.

2. Being Secretary-General actually involves work -- occasionally -- and his staff is insignificant compared to the staff of POTUS. Obama is lazy and disinclined to work. He is more inclined to lie on the beach in Hawaii. <

Consequently, he will pursue the latter line of work after he leaves office.

I was being a bit ironic.

Though even in a “Mad Max” situation, being that far out might not keep them away.

Look at the situation in Argentina. At one point, people were leaving small farms and banding together because the ferals where going to the softer targets in the countryside.

I stopped scanning comments after 60.

My .02 fwiw: Most got it wrong. It’s not about 44/2...it’s about turning this against the Dems & Progressives that are vying for seats in ‘14 & ‘16.

This is psyops; has been since the media began focusing on GW, mad about FL. Lack of leadership will doom us Conservatives without respect to a President Biden or, heaven forbid, Boner.

To borrow a line: You’re aiming too high...

I wouldn’t put it past him to represent some country other than ours. He has no loyalty but that to himself.

As for the work part of the job, heck, he’s played his way through the presidency for the most part. He’s gotten more experienced at being a slacker.

I don’t put anything past him.

But having said that, you may well be right about him just wanting to lay around on the beach.

With Nixon we dodged a bullet, and got Ford instead of Spiro Agnew.

Obama will finish his second Term, he is the first Flubber President after all.

His name will dominate the History Books and his Legacy will outshine the Founding Fathers.

Huckadoodle is delusional.

Both Ford and Agnew sucked. Who picked Nelson Rockefeller as VP, and JP Stephens? Bob

I think Agnew would have been better, he didn’t take any guff from the media. Or any other leftists, for that matter. :)
