Couldn't do that. Romney would have been all over him about that.

He had to protect his re-elections prospects that would have been dashed.

Romney could have been all over him EVEN during the debates. Willard just dropped the ball and decided not to even pursue the matter ( and of course the so called moderator, Candy Crowley was there to help extricate Obama from any tight spot ).
