Rush Limbaugh people are saying its not El Rushbos fault that ad sales have fallen at his flagship WABC and he made it clear this weekend if the networks boss keeps declaring it is, he just may pack up his megadittoes and leave.
In New York, that would very likely take him to WOR, which would create the biggest shakeup in city talk radio since WOR scooped up Bob Grant after WABC fired him in 1995.
Limbaughs contract with WABC expires at the end of the year.
Lew Dickey, the CEO of WABC parent company Cumulus, has said Limbaughs controversial comments have diminished ad revenue for the past year and the slump remains a residual hangover for the station.

I've enjoyed The Blaze News on the Sirius news breaks while listening to Glenn Beck, (very rarely) Hannity and TGO/Levin. It beats the heck outta AP Radio *News*. Glad SiriusXM made the switch to Blaze.
Wouldn't doubt it.
That's odd. Because, to my recollection, he never even alluded to being of that persuasion on WBAP. And I listened to him regularly for around fifteen years.
Davis was very smitten with Santorum during the 2012 primaries -- actually harboring, I suspect, the notion that he might serve as Press Secretary in a Santorum administration. And, under no circumstances would Santorum be confused with a libertarian....
You seem to have a good grasp on the Dickey Brother. Here was a Jeffrey Lord article from American Spectator that explains it further. I think I might repost this today. It is about business, but also about the Dickey brothers brand of Republicanism. It can be summed up in one sentence from one of the Dickey’s “We are in favor of eating our own cooking” meaning they have a stable of syndicated talkies like Huckabee. In essence, Dickey-think is “Why should they pay for outside talent” (like Rush).

Surprised that WABC AM wants to dump Rush. He is the big draw not only to WABC AM but to the locals AM/FM stations that carry Rush’s feed, such as WTIC AM in CT.
Online I WMAL AM of DC and WCBM AM of Baltimore.
I have heard him refer to his libertarian tendencies, never the he was a (big L) member of the Libertarian Party.

Problem is that iTunes and many other services do not carry WOR AM. That will mean adding WOR on.
I wish Rush would explain his business model but it is a deeply held secret.
Rush is the consummate Radio professional.
I am tuning in now...
So long.
I do not think he is a Libertarian Party Member.
You are correct on that.
Interesting... WOR flagship...
A little prediction of upcoming events:
As Lew Dickey, the DISGRACED FORMER CEO of WABC parent company Cumulus mulls his recent firing by the Cumulus board of directors, he reflects back to the time he drove the Limbaugh show from WABC into the welcoming arms of a competitor and the thought begins to cross him mind...What the hell was I thinking.
But I was evidently mistaken.
Rush says the Admin did not “want” Benghazi Stevens et al to die...
Do Pro-Choice advocates “want” babies to die?
There is a history here that many non-radio types don’t understand and it goes back to the deregulation of media back in ‘96.
The Dickey’s were just beginning their purchase of small station and were using funds from, I believe, the Wisconsin Teacher’s Retirement Fund. They were in a feeding frenzy with a guy named Randy Michaels from Cincinnati, who was the CEO of a radio company called Jacor.
Jacor evolved into Clear Channel and it’s media syndicate Premiere Radio. So now you have WABC paying it’s chief competitor for programming. And, as most radio deals are structured, the syndicate hold back avails “national advertising” to sell and they hold all the revenue i.e. Lifelock, Goldline, and others. This means Cumulus is not only paying a premium for the programming, it is also losing advertising dollars because they can’t sell the time.
This is all smoke and mirrors. While I don’t think Huck will be making an appearance on WABC in the near future, there is talk on the street that Mike Savage is about to ink a deal with Cumulus. Now that the court has sided with him in his contract dispute with Talkers Network. He is free to go elsewhere. So...he goes to Cumulus Media. They sell him to their own stations (again think P&L) and they control ALL the advertising revenue.
Lew and John aren’t stupid and in response to another post here about the “former” CEO Lew Dickey, it isn’t going to happen. The family holds enough stock to maintain control of the company.
Dennis Prager fan myself....
