Rush Limbaugh people are saying its not El Rushbos fault that ad sales have fallen at his flagship WABC and he made it clear this weekend if the networks boss keeps declaring it is, he just may pack up his megadittoes and leave.
In New York, that would very likely take him to WOR, which would create the biggest shakeup in city talk radio since WOR scooped up Bob Grant after WABC fired him in 1995.
Limbaughs contract with WABC expires at the end of the year.
Lew Dickey, the CEO of WABC parent company Cumulus, has said Limbaughs controversial comments have diminished ad revenue for the past year and the slump remains a residual hangover for the station.

I’d love for El Rushbo to also go to satellite.
In lib NY-—it may well be true that Rush is hurting ad sales. I’ll shed no tears for either party in this dust-up.
Cumulus has been getting rid of conservatives left and right for cheaper RINO voices.
My favorite local radio talk show host is Mark Davis:
From Wiki>
“Beginning in April 2012, after eighteen years at WBAP, Mark disappeared from the airwaves. Rumors surfaced that Mark Davis and the new owners of WBAP, Cumulus were in contract negotiations. These rumors proved true. Mark confirmed them on his blog and in various tweets late in the week. Davis’ last day on the station was March 31, 2012.”

Mark wound up nearby at 660 AM “The Answer”
I just switched dial positions. I am sure that WBAP has noticed the listener ratings dropped (many others switched from WBAP).
And as for Rush, he can buy his own network if he wants to. hee hee hee
Rush has often said that he feels a sense of loyalty to AM radio. It was the small stations and their advertisers that brought him to the dance and he is not about to drop them for sat. or internet feeds.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
Rush is awesome!
Bush’s Fault.
I wish I could like Mark Davis..but I don’t. At one time in his career he was good. But he got a huge ego. WBAP is not hurting over his exit.
I’d suggest WABC look into how many people who have actual functioning brains stay away because of Hannity.
Probably a Soros campaign aimed at WABC advertisers until they cut ties with Rush.
I don't think Davis' conservatism had anything to do with the rift between him and WBAP/Cumulus. It was the money. Davis thought he was worth more than the station was offering.
Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't. But the replacement host, Ben Ferguson, is -- if anything-- more conservative than Davis.
will be interesting to see if Mark Levin bails from WABC too.
Rush is keeping WABC alive.
I wish Matt Drudge would go back on the air.
He does have radio talent, but I think he gave it up because he was not a natural at it.
Rush lives and breathes it. He is a Radio Giant.
WABC is just one lone transmitter.
Mark Simone, who used to host the WABC Saturday morning and evening shows, recently jumped WABC to join WOR and have daily show in the mid-morning. This is against WABCâs Geraldo Rivera. In just a couple of weeks, his ratings are higher than Geraldo. WABC has been becoming less conservative and you have to listen to the stupid liberal ABC news when you listen to WABC, if you listen live. We listen now on podcasts to Mark Simone, and he is really good. Rush Limbaugh could easily go to WOR.
I never liked Mark Davis, but he is a radio professional.
Ben Ferguson sucks ***
Oh dear.....
Never said WBAP was hurting, but Mark did take listeners with him. I was a long time listener to WBAP and Mark Davis.
WBAP is still programmed on my car radio, but I simply don’t often listen to them anymore. But the coverage area on WBAP is larger than KSKY (Salem Communications)
Do not find him egotistical. The Money? Don’t know about that.
I don’t like Cumulus.
Mark says he is a Libertarian.
Don’t know if he means a “little L” libertarian or a “Big L” Libertarian. Suspect a “little L” libertarian.
Same at all Cumulus stations.
