I did not intend to slam our south Carolina state troopers. Lots of find men. However, fitness was not stressed as it is today and most in the ranks were then overweight. Just an observation. They maintained restraint for several days before chasing students back into their safe Haven dorms and beating a few of them. Those students probably deserved it.
I still remember the crazy violent non students I had never seen on campus before and wonder where they came from. They had the same look as some of the OWS riffraft.

There were leftist / Maoists / Social Justice / Anarchists who were organized and compelled to agitate across cities and campuses where ever the opportunity existed. Alinskyites, Chicago Seven, Black Panthers, ACORN / Weather Underground survivors - they used the same predictable tactics to whip up the ignorant underbrush in order to create a crisis (gee, where have heard this before).
At the stupid little Michigan college I attended, the faculty / administration brought in (drum roll....) Abby Hoffman and Timothy Leary to speak to the useful idiot students. What a bunch of feces they spewed - and I was an atheist at the time (freedom loving though and wise enough to know those idiots were loons)! After these buffoons spewed their revolutionary pablum - low and behold - parties on and off campus grew larger and rowdier - to the point where kids were flipping and torching cop cars. School authorities were shocked I tell you... shocked! They had to call in campus police, city police, the sheriff, tribal police, and state police to control the mayhem.
But Timothy Leary told us to throw off the shackles and dogma of our oppressive parents and expand our minds with all of the new experimental drugs! It was our parents who caused all of the social problems, not disregard for common sense!
