LA's hispanic population is 49% vs 29% for NYC.
On an age-adjusted basis, Hispanics offend at about the same rate as whites vs 6-7x for blacks. Without the adjustment, it's about twice, compared to about 9x for blacks. That discrepancy is why San Antonio (63% Hispanic) is safer than either Houston (44%) or Dallas (42%), despite being majority Hispanic - only 6.3% of SA's residents are black compared to nearly 1/4 for both Houston (23%) and Dallas (25%). And El Paso, with its 81% Hispanic population is safest of all, because its black population is only 3% of the total. All of this data comes from city data.
