The message from the National Rifle Association, fresh off a huge victory over President Barack Obama on gun control, is clear: The fight has just begun.
The powerful gun rights lobby gathers in Houston this weekend for its annual convention and organizers anticipate a celebration over the victory in Washington and to recharge for more political struggles as gun control advocates tally their own successes in states around the country.
"If you are an NRA member, you deserve to be proud," Wayne LaPierre, the NRA's brash, no-compromises chief executive wrote last week to the organization's 5 million members, telling them they "exemplify everything that's good and right about America."
The NRA couldn't have picked a friendlier place to stage its annual event. More than 70,000 people are expected to attend the three-day "Stand and Fight"-themed convention, which includes a gun trade show, political rally and strategy meeting.

Question for Mr. LaPierre. Did the NRA support Joe Manchin?
This is not a politically friendly article. Bit it’s from sources like this that the Right learns its real strength, grudgingly conceded by its adversaries.
Bit, but, I need coffee before posting. Geez.......
LaPierre is executive vice president. Not chief executive.
That's how it should be in every state with legal carry, and the federal Capitol too.
Pro freedom Republicans, not just pro-gun. Mao was pro-gun. Hitler was pro-gun.
A lot more of the state legislation that has been passed was "Pro 2nd Amendment" than the few states that passed illegal gun control laws. But the Press-stitutes refuse to talk about that.

only 2 minutes - pass it on after viewing. it is going viral ...
Wow! Muy heavy nightmare producing.
Andrew Cuomo denouncing this vid during NRA convention will be the icing on the cake.
Woohoo!
Ping for later viewing...
“LaPierre is executive vice president. Not chief executive.”
In the NRA, the executive vice president is effectively the CEO. Their is no executive with authority above him in the organization.
Not sure why it was structured that way.
I like this line in the article..I have agree with the back ground checks I have nothing to hide..The one thing don't agree with is the honest citizen is the only one getting them..No matter the criminals will always have guns and will use them against anyone..
We had a visit from NRA President David Keene for a Lincoln Day Dinner here at lake of the Ozarks last month. I got a hand shake but didn’t have an opportunity to say more than “Hi, I’m a Life Member...”
Keene gave a good speech but didn’t seem like the crotch fighter that LaPierre is.
I hope they have good security.
Moonbat protest / disruption attempts to be expected, although thus far such anti-NRA “demonstrations” have been somewhat underwhelming.
Anyone can join the NRA - including criminals and antagonist infiltraitors.
Gun shows have had anti gun rights infiltraitors slip in and covertly load some of the firearms hoping that some careless customer will pick it up and “snap” it. Have heard that there have been a few unintended discharges - don’t know if any casualties yet. That’s why most shows require all guns to be cable tied clear. Be careful just the same.
News about the NRA protestors this morning was funny. Houston broke an old, old record for low temps last night. Wind is blowing straight from the North pretty steadily and it was hovering around 44 degrees.
While this may not seem cold to a lot of people you have to remember that it is May and it is Houston. This will help to dispel some of the protestors. The Houston Rockets also have a play-off game tonight at Toyota Center. Going to be a whole lot of traffic and a whole lot of people in a few block area. I would suspect that police are going to be very busy.
Aahh; nothing like the chattering of a hypothermic moonbat’s tiny little fangs first thing in the Morning!!!
Hopefully their yowling stupid 1960s re run commie chants were reduced to a mere quivering whimper.
HU-YA NRA!!!
