Everythings about making a statement today...one way or another....killing onesself and others seems to becomeing the fad....if the media didnt run with it it would likely not be a big deal. It's the gun issue that drives this story in the news cycle. If he'd jumped to his death he would still have been a threat to those below him but the local and national media never report jumper suicides "it might push some viewer over the edge and solicit copycat behavior".

“Sounds like we need an Air Marshall who needs a few less flights a week to go to the range.”
maybe he can’t get any ammo to practice with, like the rest of us.

GAWD! Tell me about it!
I've actually bought firearms BECAUSE of the ammo shortage.
Got myself a Rossi Rio Grande 45-70 Govt for my birthday.
At $2.00 per shot, it's pricey. But at least I'll get some shooting time.

"The Federal Air Marshal Service (FAMS) is a United States federal law enforcement agency under the supervision of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) of the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS)." I would think they have a few million to spare within the same agency. Remember, the first excuse for the 1.2 billion purchase order was they needed it for target practice and training. Someone whittled that down to 750 million actually obtained.

Well, if the shooter dies, he won’t need the AR-15 any longer so can I buy it? There is a shortage of those up this way.

Whoa new news!
Law enforcement sources tell the Blaze gunman "planned to take out the entire terminal"
Several shots were fired at Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas, Thursday afternoon. The gunman died from self-inflicted wounds after firing a couple rounds, but Houston Police Department sources tell TheBlaze the suspect intended to take out the entire terminal.
According to KHOU, the shooting occurred near the ticket counter in Terminal B of Texas largest airport when the gunman fired a couple shots in the air with an AR-15 before bringing out another gun, a pistol, and shooting himself.
To: ConservativeMan55
The Houston Chronicle reported a spokeswoman saying the incident, which is believed to be isolated, occurred around 1:35 p.m. Central time.
After the suspect fired shots into the air, KHOU reported an air marshal shooting at the man and missing, before the gunman then shot himself.
As soon as he walked in, he just automatically started shooting quickly, a McDonalds employee named Kendra told KHOU. And we hear two shots and we just automatically started running. We ran all the way to the back.
Kendra called the event traumatic with too much going on.
Dale Howard, of Tomball, was at the baggage handling area of the airport waiting for his sister to arrive on an incoming flight when he heard two shots fired from the floor above. A few seconds later, he said he heard three more shots.
People were screaming. I knew exactly what it was gunfire, Howard said.
The suspect was taken by ambulance to an area hospital. There are no reports of other injuries and terminal has since been closed for investigation, in which the FBI is assisting.
HPD sources also told TheBlaze the man is from out of town and police are searching his hotel.
The Federal Aviation Administration delayed traffic arriving into this airport until 4 p.m. Central time.

...”It’s the gun issue that drives this story in the news cycle.”.....
That... and the Boston Bombing...probably the school shootings too...but it’s still all about the drama....reporters like a HOT story they can build a foloowing on..and if there isn’t one...or one that would never get there...they will create a story to get the following.
