Is this a school where the kids largely eat kosher? It’s probably easier to just do a vegetarian than it is to try to keep a kosher kitchen. I don’t think it’s a big deal. If the kids want a ham sandwich, they can always pack a lunch from home.

This area is overwhelmingly black. I am unaware of any US public schools with kosher kitchens, even in NYC.
