Three men were killed and at least 16 others wounded during a violent nine-hour spree of shootings across the city that began late Tuesday afternoon.
The spike in violence occurred as temperatures climbed into the 80s and the city basked in the warmest weather yet this year. It also coincided with an announcement by police that the citys troubling murder statistics were down 42 percent when compared to the same period of time last year.

It’s a Quagmire....US out of Chicago...NOW!
Question: Does Chicago have any sort of stop and frisk laws..as they do in NYC, which has proven to be very effective? Has it ever been proposed? Has Emanuel attempted to borrow this from Bloomberg?
This is a load of right wing propaganda. Chicago has strict gun laws. Ergo none of this happened.
For those that have the over of 500 deaths this year in your office pool, be assured the numbers pick up dramatically in May. Over 500 murders last year. So far about 110.
Not only that, the cpd says the murder rate compared to the same time frame last year is down 42%. I’m sure they meant 90% since that is the latest number the libs seem to be tossing out there about everything.
I’m guessing it was archery. Chicago doesn’t have any guns - just read their laws.
Nice Job Garry Tonight on the Channel 5 10 PM news, Garry was bragging about a 40% drop in killings.Immediately afterward, upwards of fifteen, possibly as many as twenty people managed to get shot on the first 80 degree day since October of last year:
- At least 10 people were wounded -- including two 16 year olds -- in shootings throughout the city Tuesday evening.
- The gunfire erupted on a particularly warm day -- the city's first day in seven months with temperatures in the 80s -- and on the eve of city officials touting a big reduction in the number of homicides for the first part of the year.
- Six of the people were wounded in two separate shootings in the Roseland and South Shore neighborhoods.
Roseland? But Roseland is as safe as can be, according to CPS coaches, principals, Rahm and Pfather Pfleger. No violence there. Now go play ball.
The news missed the triple in 012 with one dead. And a few more trickling in from the south side.
So once again, nice job Garry - blow that horn and it pays you back with maybe 20 people shot. On a Tuesday night no less.
And Tiny Dancer & Madigan still are aginst CC for lawful Citizens.

Such a shame....
NW Illinois...after all...
....Used to be one of our allies...
Last year it warmed up real early. This spring has been cold & wet until yesterday. And the temp drops again tomorrow.
it was in the low 20’s last night where I live....
The NSA needs to be on the lookout for a cache of illegal lawn darts. Might as well since they are blocked from tracking jihadists in America. Give them something to do.
THERE’s an idea for a twitter meme

So when are the powers that be going to do something about this? Is it okay for black people to get shot?
Clearly (?) the crazy guys didn’t like the lower murder statistics. There’s probably some kind of gang shooting contest. Had to keep their record good.
As for the (?), it’s doubtful that clarity and anything to do with it. Drugs probably played a part.
Seriously.
They play them by day, and act them out by night.
.
Chicago, Detroit, this is what you get when liberals are in charge.
“Violent, anti-authority video games are a contributor to many of these.
Seriously.
They play them by day, and act them out by night.”
Just like my sons in their nice suburban basement, and all their friends, too. Just like me when I was younger playing “army” with our BB guns and pellet guns. We watched TV shows like “Combat” and movies like “The Longest Day.” And those incredibly violent Looney Tunes cartoons. Don’t even get me started on The Three Stooges.
Yeah, we all wound up shooting each other for real, and dropping anvils on people. Like I was going to smack my brother in the head with a shovel, because Curley did it to Moe.
