Two suspects who have been taken into custody in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings drove a car with “Terrorista #1″ license plates.

Azamat Tazhayakov and Dias Kadyrbayev were reportedly arrested, along with one other person, for allegedly making false statements and obstructing justice during the federal investigation into Boston Marathon bombing suspects Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, officials said Wednesday.

Having "Terrorista #1" on a Massachusetts license plate is impossible. MA uses only six digits/letters on their pan plates.

If they had a custom vanity plate on the front of their vehicle, then that is illegal as MA requires front and back state issued plates. Why no cop ever stopped them for that is odd. Most local constabularies are all over that.

The plate appears to be a privately stamped vanity. The top has "UMass Dartmouth". It may be something they could order through the campus bookstore. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that Massachusetts made money selling it to them.
