“In fact, the U.S. had so much knowledge of these people and their activities, I am suspect they just allowed those at the marathon to be blown away...”

See, this is where you’ve lost me. The government knew at least one of these guys was a radical, that he went on some jihadist websites, and went to Russia possibly to try to hook up with terrorists. We’ve got no information that they knew of any active plot that was going on, so you’re jumping to a conclusion (that they might have allowed the bombing to happen), when there is no evidence the government knew there was going to be a bombing.

What was the government supposed to do? Arrest the guy for having politically incorrect views? Or for voicing radical opinions? Their hands are tied by the 1st Amendment there.

Could they arrest him for meeting up with foreign terrorists? Yes, but there is no evidence that he ever actually managed to meet up with any, so they couldn’t do that.

Could they deport him just because they had evidence he was a rotten egg? Maybe, but he had gotten his citizenship already, so I think that is out the window too.

So, what would you have had the government do to stop this, that was actually within their legal limits to do?

How about this....when we find out that a citizen is imbedded with said Muslim radicals, immediately make that information public. Kind of like a sex offender database. Plaster their face EVERYWHERE.

On top of that, before the fact, we can stop all Muslim immigration and citizenship. immediately.

But your question does denote a root problem, that we will have to address sooner or later. What do we do when a religion is, by definition, at war with unbelievers and repeatedly and deliberately attacks them? I don’t believe the founders intended the 1st amendment to mean that when a religion, such as Islam, that commands its followers to convert, kill or enslave non believers, that the religion just gets to maintain equal standing and nothing can be done about that. It was intended to eliminate the idea of a National Church, and allow people to worship as the pleased....but not to blow up other religions.

Lets imagine that immediately after the Revolution the Church of England was actively acting in the colonies to overthrow the new government, harboring rebels, killing Presbyterians, etc..and its houses of worship were used to harbor and instill anti-American fighters and beliefs, I don’t thing that Washington, Jefferson et al. would have said well, we just to to watch and try to guess right 100% of the time before they did anything, but lordy lord we must not declare the religion evil.

That is the problem we face with Islam, and the asinine way that we are trying to deal with it, with the handicap of political correctness and trying to never hurt anyone’s feelings. No matter how many times these fools say it, we are at war with Islam...or more correctly, Islam is at war with us.

I never claimed that the government knew they were going to bomb us. Please read more carefully.

Government is now taking hundreds of billions from the tax payers every year to support their behemoth all encompassing security departments and apparatus, supposedly to stop terrorism and protect the U.S.

No?

Question:

The Feds knew all about these people prior to the terrorism..They were warned by multiple foreign governments. They and their family members committed other crimes here. We had info #1 was traveling to foreign countries to meet with terrorist radicals, there is more...Etc etc..

And you going to sit there and suggest the feds were just simply powerless to do anything with these foreign radicals and terrorist, which they already had a whole lot of information on?

Yes or no?
