Been getting our self-defense and firearm-selection advice from our esteemed vice president, have we? Or, would that be just our talking points? Via the Washington Examiner:
If you live in a city and you think you need protection of your home, youre way better off with a shotgun than an assault weapon, Clinton added. Trust me. Its not even close.
Groan. For the umpteenth time — yes, a shotgun is a very solid choice for in-home self-defense, but for goodness’ sake, stop trying to discount AR-15s and their ilk as an defense option because of your eagerness to discredit its possible uses and classify it as an “assualt” weapon. What a criminal can assault a law-abiding citizen with, a law-abiding citizen can just as easily deter and defend against criminals.
Is that why his own security detail carries Shotguns instead of H&K MP5s? Oh wait.
Bill Clinton: “If you really want someone dead, have their plane drop from the sky Ron Brown style.”
No, Mr. Clinton, I will not trust a known perjurer and liar.
I will choose what weapon I am better off with. That is my right as an American citizen given to me by God, not you.
Well, Bill’s personal life was always more the shotgun spray-in-every-direction style than anything actually directed and controlled, so it makes sense.
I don’t know what former President Clinton said and I don’t care about his agenda (we know it is bad). However, IF one only wants a firearm JUST to protect themself inside a home...THEN it is true that a shotgun (provided it is a weaponized one with a 18’ barrel and pump or semi-auto) IS the BEST choice. A rifle will go through several walls and possible hurt a neighbor, but a shotgun (using large birdshot) won’t travel much past the first wall (even drywall). Plus, the shotgun will be more immediately incapacitating and lethal.
I doubt Mr. Clinton would approve of a “riot gun” version of a shotgun that is best for home defense though. A single, or double barrel hunting shotgun would not be much use indoors. Mr. Clinton would probably consider the proper defense shotgun to be an “assault weapon” as well.
If I had a choice between a shotgun or an AR when fending off an intruder, I will opt for the AR ever time. But, that’s just me.
When are people going to wake up and stop the liberals from making the 2nd amendment about crime & protection from criminals?
We don’t need anyone’s permission to defend ourselves and our families from criminals. Period.
Clinton and the rest of the efftards on the left are doing everything they can to divert the discussion away from the real meaning of the 2nd amendment. Governments by their nature are oppressive & are only limited by the will of the people. The 2nd Amendment does NOT give us the right to own guns to deter a despotic government. We are born with that right. The 2nd Amendment is simply reminding the government that we don’t need its permission to be free men. And we don’t need its permission to say enough is enough.
Stop letting the statists define the terms of the discussion.
I don’t know doc, I’ve got a coupla scatterguns but no AR.
Gimme my 12ga and I’m ready to dance.
You say tomahto, I say potatoe ;)
Hmmmm . . . maybe krinton the draft dodger got his secret insider info from his sidekick Algore who was a Viet Nam hero:
To be fair, he said: "If you live in a city and you think you need protection of your home..."
And that is true. If you live next to me...I would rather you protect your home with a 12 gauge than with an AK....and I am sure anyone in the next room would prefer it too.
You kinda got to think about other innocent people when you are protecting your castle. Now...on the other hand...an "assault weapon" is useful for protecting your home from another kind of threat...but we aren't there yet.
That way you still get a gun to cling to but the cops get to go home after killing you in a botched no-knock raid...
What if you were able to disable a intuder without killing him? A mentally retarded man tried to break into my friends house through the front door. My friend walked out a side door with his glock could see this was some poor slob off his meds and shot him in the ankle. A shotgun would have blwn his leg off and killed him.
ROFLMAO! To each his own. ;-)
Who says you can’t have both?
Dear Mr Clinton, even if you’re right, its still each citizen’s choice what weapons s/he chooses to purchase. It is not your choice, nor is it the government’s. See US Constitution. Thank you.
OK Mr. Clinton, let’s say an angry mob of terrorists are beating down your door and about to break into your home. You can choose either an AR-15 or a shotgun. which would YOU choose?
We're getting closer every day, trust me.
Hey Bill! Whether I use a shotgun or AR15 to defend my home from an intruder, I am using an “assault” weapon. Even if I am using my S&W Model 10-8, I’m using an “assault” weapon. Just ask any good liberal.
Trust you, never!
