Ron Paul: Police Manhunt For Boston Marathon Bombing Suspect Scarier Than Attack
The Washington Times ^ | April 30, 2013 | Cheryl K. Chumley

Former Rep. Ron Paul said the law enforcement that swarmed around Boston in the days following the marathon bombings was scarier than the actual terrorist attack.

RE :”None of it was right but we need some balance rather than grabbing our crotches and screaming “police state!”.

Has anyone made any legitimate complaints about that Boston police action on themselves? Like any unrelated arrests or seizures of private property resulting from these searches?

Or did they just make the locals feel more secure? Like I said, if these two were running around for months like the DC snipers were in 2002 there would be lots of angry Bostonians.

Clearly Ron Paul is just blogging from else-where.
This is the best he can find to complain about?

The left has found the range. Only crazy Ron Paulites object!

Forget that one million people under martial law, while law enforcement lies about the terrorist being armed to avoid early scrutiny. That’s just sausage making details there.

Finally, the media can run with the story -it’s Paulites.

Door to door warrantless searches did NOT get the 2 bombers, it was a guy outside the search zone who noticed a blood stain on his boat.
Those who sacrifice freedom for security deserve neither freedom or security.

Another point to consider.....

I noticed at least one SWAT team member in Watertown had what looked like a digital camcorder mounted on top of his helmet.

I wouldn’t appreciate having the layout of my house, the rooms and their contents recorded. An invasion of privacy as well as a potential threat to the security of both myself and my family members.

Who saw those images? Were they destroyed or deleted after the search of a home didn’t turn up any terrorists?

He should be concentrating on the fact that our government is creating these problems by importing terrorists and has been for a very long time.

RE :”He should be concentrating on the fact that our government is creating these problems by importing terrorists and has been for a very long time. “

We are together 100% on that one.

Ron is the King of irrelevance. He'd be whining about those two terrorists treatment if he thought anyone would care.

This sounds so far about nothing.

Ron Paul needs a different hobby now that he is retired.
He is still the king of irrelevence.

“Door to door warrantless searches did NOT get the 2 bombers, it was a guy outside the search zone who noticed a blood stain on his boat.”

Sure the searches were part of why they got the terrorist. If police don’t chase them, shoot it out with them, and cordon off the area, as well as search the houses, the loser doesn’t hop in a boat bleeding all over the boat.

Of course Mr Paul is correct.
Anyone that looks at the Toyota Tundra in So. California and the boat in Boston after the POlice shot them up, with unarmed subjects inside that is not afraid of the police is dumber than a box of rocks.
In neither case did the shooters (the POlice) know who or what they were shooting at. They suspected and shot. Scares me. And if the ‘lockdown’ of Boston does not scare the living hell out of you, you need to read a little history.

I just can’t help but wonder how many FReepers would feel the same outrage if it were a civilian posse doing exactly the same with zero oversight.

So we're supposed be okay with the militarized police doing house to house searches without warrants because there were posses and vigilance committees during the 19th century? Seriously?

So in other words, you don’t have the stones to answer.

You may go now.

Yes, im sure all of the guys with the M16s dressed like armored ninjas just forced their way into the homes on all of those videos to get some new decorating ideas. Is there any activity...ANY by someone with a badge that you would find even mildly objectionable?

Certainly the bombing was scarier than this spectacle of marshal law. Certainly observing on TV the explosions was far more traumatizing than having law enforcement, those entrusted with the Socratic Noble Lie, order citizens confined to their own home awaiting the moment those incorruptible representatives of government come to level their automatic weapons at our fellow citizen’s mid-section and order them to the street.

Some might say that in this nation, the United States of America, the Constitution forbids this sort of thing in order to restrain the power of the government over the people. I say, “Posh!” Those who wrote those dusty documents never considered the horror of terrorist bombers. If they had, they would have made exceptions to the Fourth Amendment to say specifically that should it be the case that a terror bomber were suspected of hiding in some mile square area inhabited by US citizens, these citizens should be subject to incarceration and warrantless searches at gunpoint.

Our founders knew that the people of American and their Government would always be different from all other cultures of the world, forever. Such things could never, ever lead to events as those that happened to Armenians in 1915, Ukrainians in the 1930s, or the Jews in the 1940s. Never.

BOSTON STORNG! Good on them for their continued silence. What right does this upstart Kentuckian have to his outrage?

Or would you just prefer a link to the Watertown white pages? Wait...I get it now. It didn’t happen to me so I should have nothing bad to say about it, right?

Yup no point in wasting time on cowards.

I didn’t like the situation in Boston anymore than anyone else but at least I can admit that I don’t have any answers and see no point in screeching about the “police state”.

Until those people come up with solutions, its pretty much pointless to waste time on them.
