I would agree with that, and in many ways he’s very likeable. But he let us down by never standing up for him, or us, in the face of criticism. Presidential criticism is NOT the personal issue of the man involved....it’s owned by all of his supporters, and he never realized that.
I was a rabid Bush-bot in 2002 like some of these folks but by late 2006 after those midterms I realized how mistaken I was about him and that things would just be getting worse and worse and they did.
I remember the days you are thinking of as things snowballed out of control 2005 to 2006 and my hopes that Bush would prove them all wrong, He made a fool out of his believers.
I am glad he does not get on TV repeating all those lame excuses that his bots do, that would be pathetic.
He now honors the office he held by not being petty.
