In the mid 1960’s we had another left wing president, LBJ, who left our men out to dry with the Pueblo and Liberty.

Before those acts of treason, he or his A$$holes in charge of the military didn’t respond to urgent pleas for help from another USN ship due to a sudden, unprovoked hostile action from larger ship.

Fortunately, an Air Force commander in the area ordered a fly over of the situation and had his jet pilot break the sound barrier over the foreign ship trying putting the USN ship into harm’s way. The jet then stayed in the area with a hovering/close circle maneuver over the two ships.

That allowed the Navy CO to go from a dire defensive position to the offensive. No shots were fired, but the bridge of the offending ship probably needed to be sanitized after staring at a 5 inch mount and some snipers on the USN ship.

The American CO via loud speakers told the offending ship that they had 10 seconds to break away. If not the first shot would take out their bridge, then the next shots would run the length of the ship at their water line and their rudder would be taken out. The next pass would fire phosphorus shells into the previous shell holes. Any survivor on deck on their ship would be shot from the USN ship.

The offending ship abruptly stopped the challenge/harassment, did a rapid 180 and left the area.

The event is probably still classified.
