One important thing to understand it that he wasn’t going to be denied rights. Miranda only means that he must be informed of his rights.
Kinda funny that in 1895 the supreme court ruled that jurors need not be informed of their rights but the later Miranda ruling says that the accused must be informed.
Frankly I think better education is the real answer to this conundrum.
