Bloomberg Says Interpretation of Constitution Will ‘Have to Change’ After Boston Bombing

In the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Monday the countrys interpretation of the Constitution will have to change to allow for greater security to stave off future attacks.
The people who are worried about privacy have a legitimate worry, Mr. Bloomberg said during a press conference in Midtown. But we live in a complex world where youre going to have to have a level of security greater than you did back in the olden days, if you will. And our laws and our interpretation of the Constitution, I think, have to change.

Sadly the populace needs to be reminded who are the real threats to Freedom.
And that is an unrestricted all powerful government at any level.
It reminds me of the story someone once post about how a traveler to a rural community seduce and captured a hoard of wild pigs that the locals thought was all but impossible.

I agree!! Freedom of the Press will NOW mean that only those who use a actual “printing press” to disseminate the news will be given “freedom” of the press. No more free press for TV media, i.e., ABC, NBC,CBS. MSNBC, CNN, nor the for the radio news media.
I wonder how Loonyburg likes my idea? I think, based on today’s socialist and communist lame-stream media, it is an excellent interpretation of “freedom of the press” Lets take the term “press” literally!! What say you, Loonburg?

Funny, wonder how he would feel about a modern interpretation of property and billionaires. They amass too much money and infuence goverment too heavily. I understand his legitimate worry,, but we live in a complex world. He might need to accept being stripped of everything he owns over 200k or so. That’d be ok Bloomie? Right? /

No Bloomie, I won’t. Nothing is more effective than the time-honored tradition of self-defense.
If the government could protect the public they would have done so by now. They clearly cannot.

Nothing preventing Bloomberg from packing his bags and moving to a place more to his liking, say, Beijing.
No one asked him or his family to come here in the first place. Invited themselves in 140 years after the Constitution he doesn't like was born of other's sacrifice.

FReepers often don't understand it when I say I would rather live in Detroit than Chicago or NY but your statement is the perfect example of why. NY is nanny despotism and Detroit is apathy, greed, and corruption. Most of us would be arrested if we were "caught" with a gun in NY and Detroit is an open carry city.

Somebody should propose to Bloomberg a law that wouldn’t require a reinterpretation of the Constitution: that billionaires with more than a certain amount of assets should have a wealth tax to reduce their wealth to between 1 and 2 billion dollars. Any more assets would have a 100% tax on them.
Just to watch him have a panic attack.
