They’ve banned backpacks at the Pittsburgh Marathon.

Let's face it, my father was right, "the terrorists have won." I know there are many support people at marathons who need to carry various things they need to get the job done. Take amateur radio operators for example. They need to carry a walkie-taklie at least or maybe a transceiver that is a little larger. You also need to carry several changes of batteries too. A pack or backpack would help.
