Before I reach the cold depths, one more note. For someone free of responsibility you certainly are taking it hard. But your anger has at least uncovered the truth: it’s a scam and you’re comfortable with it. At last we agree.

I have a friend in advertising, and I used to complain to him about goofy commercials.
I would say, “these commercials do not appeal to me, they offend my sensibilities and make me want to black list the company advertising”
He would respond “But YOU are 1% of the population”
You are like me in that you respond to advertisement that is up front.
Show me the specs and the price.
Many people are not technically oriented.
That sort of ad would bore them to tears.
For the majority, Ads focus on emotion or status.
