RE: your misfires on .22 rounds... I am seeing that occur occasionally with my BSA Rifle Shooting MB training. We shoot single shot bolt action rifles. Trigger pull / ‘click’/ count to ‘30’ / extract / confirm firing pin strike / rotate cartridge 90 degrees and reload - fires..... What is happening is in the manufacturing process. The primer media is not getting distributed evenly in the rim and you have a void. The round is only ‘slightly defective’. If, after a second or third ‘misfire’. Destroy the cartridge.
A misfire always bugs me. Even if I can’t get it to fire on the 2nd or 3rd try I still treat it like a themo-nuclear bomb.
I had 3 misfires on the same cartridge. Yes, firing pin was striking. I did rotate it to get a strike in a different spot. This was with a Ruger 10/22 using Winchester Wildcat ammo. After that I gave up on it.
