There's always an idiot around. Last time I got involved in a 'black color' dispute it concerned the Viet Nam Veterans Memorial ~ 'they' ~ people like the Brooks-Hodge woman, but a different color, wanted to denounce the design by calling it a 'black gash of shame'.

Didn't work then and shouldn't work now.

I remember when the Vietnam memorial was new, there were a lot of people who weren't too thrilled with the design, for various reasons. It was called "cold", and "lifeless" among other things. However, the vets have taken the memorial and made it their own. Can anyone see the raw emotion it brings forth regularly from viewers an still consider it cold? Or lifeless?
