TV Ratings: 'Duck Dynasty' Tops 'American Idol' With Record-Breaking Finale
UPDATED: The A&E reality series outperforms all of Wednesday's cable and broadcast series in the targeted adults 18-49 demo --- and pulls in nearly 10 million total viewers.
Duck Dynasty shows no signs of slowing. The A&E series' season finale drew a record 9.6 million viewers during its one-hour episode -- and an equally impressive 5.5 million adults 18-49.
That haul in the key demo puts it ahead of all of cable and broadcast offerings for the night -- including American Idol. Duck Dynasty's 4.3 rating with adults 18-49 rating tops the preliminary showing for Idol (3.2 rating) by 34 percent.

“i missed the show last week”
Yeah, I heard the story about the bleeps. Also no worries on missing the last, one thing A&E does do is show their reruns on a regular basis.

Phil Robertson brother of Si and Patriarch played first string quarterback at Louisiana Tech and was drafted into the NFL; but turned it down. Not only was he the starting QB at LaTech, he started in front of Terry Bradshaw. Bradshaw wouldn't have had the opportunity to take over quite so fast had Phil not wanted to take time off, during the FB season, to duck hunt. The rest is history, we know what Bradshaw became. Phil was a great player!

That would be Darius Rucker's rendition of an old song.. Originally by Old Crow Medicine Show who are relative unknowns.. Been listening to them for years. I've seen the Old Crow Medicine Show cover of the song as well. They are a quirky bunch! Bob Dylan is the original author.

Bob Dylan wrote the chorus only, for which OCMS gives credit.

You may find this an interesting read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rural_purge Yea I read that before. It's a shame some great shows went off the air that were downright funny. Green Acres Mr Haney reminds me of some rural politicians in my area LOL. I don't think I could ever get tired of The Beverly Hillbillies especially Granny.

The other night I watched the episode where Wille got handcuffed to Si during a state mandated Human Resources class. It was halarious.I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. "Please, please let there not be a key!" and "Just when I thought this day couldn't get any better, there it is." Willie and Si were funny, but Jase stole the show.

It’s fun and wholesome, and I’m happy for their success. But it’s getting old for me. Now that I know the characters, there doesn’t seem to be much more.
I would like to see more Mountain Man, though. He’s a riddle.wrapped in an enigma.
