UPDATED: The A&E reality series outperforms all of Wednesday's cable and broadcast series in the targeted adults 18-49 demo --- and pulls in nearly 10 million total viewers.
Duck Dynasty shows no signs of slowing. The A&E series' season finale drew a record 9.6 million viewers during its one-hour episode -- and an equally impressive 5.5 million adults 18-49.
That haul in the key demo puts it ahead of all of cable and broadcast offerings for the night -- including American Idol. Duck Dynasty's 4.3 rating with adults 18-49 rating tops the preliminary showing for Idol (3.2 rating) by 34 percent.

Yea I watch that a lot also. I think Mountain Men is coming back on soon. The Trapper in Alaska and the Trapper in Montana are my favorites on that one. The guy in North Carolina? Not so much. Something seems a bit off there.
I love how they pick a certain age group to show the show beat American Idol and Dancing with the Stars. However, American Idol and Dancing with the Stars beat Duck Dynasty by overall numbers. I have nothing against Duck Dynasty at all. In fact, the show is hilarious. But this article is crap although that is not surprising as all media is a joke.

So I had The headline about DD beating America Idol up on the studio computer. She was disgusted and really went ballistic when I mentioned I hoped it would top Dancing With The Stars.

That’s because it was posted in Hollywood Reporter. Demo’s are what it’s all about though. Especially that demo. There must have great gnashing of teeth when HR had to run it!

And they actually pray and believe in God and the show topped AI. When The Bible series aired it took top spot too. Lefties, you say you’re the majority. Clearly you’re not. Especially since Disney just cancelled Clone Wars.

I think you are right and Hollywood usually follows the money so lets hope they do and we see more family-oriented programming.

Jep Robertson came to a church in our area recently. My wife works with someone who was there, He told a story about A&E editing out their dinner blessing and saying Amen the first season. When Phil Robertson found out he told A&E if they edit the religious content they would not have a show. It’s a shame he even had to do that.

Just cut the cord and order DD and other shows from Amazon Prime. I barley watch the crapppy liberal commercials anymore with the exception of sports. Commercials are so 2003..
For some reason I found the part when Miss Kay was using shampoo for hand lotion the funniest part of that episode.

There’s a short, poor-quality youtube video of Phil telling part of that story. I think it was a friend of his who was hunting with him, and the friend asked him about this. Phil said A&E was editing out his saying, “In Jesus name” at the end of his prayers, and leaving in the “Amen” part.
Also, there’s another YouTube of jase (i think) telling how A&E added a few “bleeps” during the first few shows, when no one even cussed. Phil found out about it and demanded they NEVER do that again or there would be no show. (Watch the episode with the family football game and listen for the bleeps during the game.)
DD is a great show. I’ve seen every episode since the beginning but i missed the show last week. Will have to catch a rerun, i guess.

They donate a huge amount of money to Christian schools and to their church, including the money they make from all their special appearances.
