DALLAS Shortly after Barack Obama was elected in 2008, a fellow reporter whod covered President George W. Bush all eight years told me shed had enough of the travel and stress and strain of the White House beat, that she was moving on.
We reminisced about all the places wed been, all the crazy days and wild nights, all the history wed seen first hand. Just before we said our goodbyes, I asked her if shed miss covering President Obama.
Not at all. Hes an inch deep. Bush is a bottomless chasm, a deep, mysterious, emotional, profound man. Obama is all surface shallow, obvious, robotic, and, frankly, not nearly as smart as he thinks. Bush was the one.
Her words, so succinct, have stuck with me ever since. By the way, shes a hardcore Democrat.

most species of toxic mold can out-class Barack and Bill...
I agree, he has more class. But there are times I wish he had less blue blood manners and would have made more efforts to fight and defend conservative ideals...if he ever had any.
“Hes an inch deep.”
Bath-House Barry’s new tagline!
I LIKE it. I’ll USE it.
Not a real high bar.
Agreed
I mean, does having class make you kind of a loser? I’m afraid it might. All this delicacy when a little rolling around in the dirt might keep us alive!
And Laura outclassed BOTH first ladies by miles- The Bush’s, regardless of what your ideology is, were very classy people- opur current dear leader’s wife dons skin tight spandex and pole dances infront of photographers and reporters, and shoves her crotch nearly i ntheir faces- stuffs her face while giving Republican leader a nasty classless look durign a televised dinner, throws wild expensive parties for she and her family while millions aqre without jobs and have lsot hteir homes, while her huisband takes more moeny away from seniors, dissabled peopel and veterans
Our dear leader couldn’t even let George Bush enjoy HIS time today- and had to make his speech a political one hopign to cash in on what George Bush had already started so that he coudl take full credit for it when it gets done- Same with KKKlinton who made the hwoel speech practically about himself
What a classless bunch of peopel we’ve had in thsoe two- The bush’s outrclass both those familes
It’s like comparing a toilet and a throne. Wished we could flush obama down one..
[[if he ever had any.]]
He did- He just didn’;t defend trhem effectively
[[But there are times I wish he had less blue blood manners and would have made more efforts to fight and defend conservative ideals]]
You and me both- He did irreprable harm to the republican party by refusign to defend himself agaisnt hte visciousness of the left- and the left quickly learned that the WHOLE damn republican party is unwilling to defend their ideals agaisnt the left’s visciousness
Great article. Made me cry.
today I came to the sorry realization that LBJ outclasses Obama. And THAT is saying something.
I was watching a little of the ceremony in the break room and I managed to catch HW’s welcome message. It was about a minute long. After he finished, 43 thanked him and said he did well. HW looked at him and asked, “Too long?” They both cracked up. It was very cute.
I am sick of holding these men in such reverence.
They took the job as servants.
It’s time we require humility from them.
It’s time we stop paying them for doing nothing.
I love President Bush, what an inspiration!
If you’re a Republican politician, you have to defend yourself. The MSM will never give you the benefit of the doubt.
Roger that. I took the time to read past the part that dogged out king hussein all the way to the end. Class can NOT be bought. You either have it or you don’t. The king is classless. If nothing else, GW loves this country and he loves the military AND he respects them too.
I can’t disagree. But. But we have a dated 18th century political system and a democratically elected every 4 years equivalent of King George. Just think, so many countries have achieved independence in the past 50 years, all of the Eastern European countries that have drawn brand new constitutions, many of them with the help of American Constitutional experts. Why is it that none of them adopted our perfect (according to so many here) Constitution and political system? Why?
An inch deep!
Good thing I wasn’t taking a drink when I read that.
That’s just funny!
