No, its weasel words to say only one type of sexual immorality is an abomination. According to Gods Word, all sex outside of marriage is an abomination. The Mormon church teaches equally against fornication, masturbation, and adultery.
Sorry, but you cannot approve of Homosexuals being in the Boy Scouts and have an intact Moral Purity where Sexual Immorality is concerned.
That is Hypocrisy and outright lying.
Besides, Christ made it real clear it wasn't the Committed Action he came to fix or condemn, but what came out of the Heart, the desire.
It is totally non-Christian to propose that if a man abstains from acting out the desire, but still has the desire, that God is pleased with this.
Christ came to deliver man from sin, not allow him to live in sin.

But if these boys who are in Scouts are following the Scout code, are they not being delivered from their sin? At least for their time in Scouts they are celibate (or liars, as would be any boy who is sexually active in any way).

My point is that it’s a moot issue for Mormon Scout troops. All boys are expected to abstain fro any type of sexual activity, whether homosexual or heterosexual. If the boy who thinks he is gay can make it through the Scout program, the work of saving him from his sin is over halfway done.
I can see how this might be a problem for Scout troops that don’t expect honest adherence to the Scout code, but perhaps they need to reorganize their priorities.
