Similar situation. We decided to love on him, invite him to all the family stuff and then some and within two weeks he left. He couldn’t take our “so called perfect” family. Had I known it was that easy we would have loved on him from the gitgo.
Soon as I stopped with my eyerolls, sighs and “you deserve better than this” with my daughter and detached(not from wisdom but frustration),,,she came to her senses and got rid of him.
Moral of the story: Parents DO know best alot of the time but we have to learn to put duct tape over our mouths and leave it there.
