Ummm, actually, an order to secure all federal buildings and facilities went out in April of 2001. hats when all military posts secured gates and added gate guards, other buildings and facilities add jersey barriers and other increased physical security all based on a threat of terrorist attacks being imminent. I’m thinking that counts as doing something.

Fort Campbell, Kentucky has always had gate guards. All you had to do is show your military ID or Dependent card. Then you had to get your vehicle registered on post and affix some stickers to your windshield, plus show your ID card
