Gosh, I would have called the world of 1870 and 1913 multi-polar. That didn’t work too well, did it?

It worked out fine for the United States as long as we followed George Washington's wise advice to avoid foreign turmoils. I am all for a multipolar world if it allows some other nations to do the bulk of the national power draining heavy lifting to maintain the balance of power in their own regions.

Japan, Taiwan, India and South Korea and, possibly, Israel, probably need to form a nuclear self-protection group. I certainly don’t want the US to be the only power to counter China. Periodically, we apparently will be run by idiots who hate the United States and denigrate our allies in favor of our enemies. This will probably go on for the next 100 years or until something happens here to end it.
