No arguments here.
most of these replies are missing the point.
she has seen her husband and one son dishonestly maligned in the press. she doesn’t want to see another son subjected to that.
Barbara Bush, the smart one.
Let’s see the short history of the Bush’s lust for power. George Bush senior desperately wanted to be chosen for vice-president when Spiro Agnew was forced to resign. Instead, Nixon chose Gerald Ford. He was again desperate to be chosen for vice-president when Richard Nixon resigned, but Gerald Ford chose Nelson Rockefeller. He wanted to be the vice-presidential nominee in ‘76 but Gerald Ford chose Bob Dole. Then he ran for president in 1980 but was defeated by Ronald Reagan and finally got his wish to be vice-president. Then he became president on Reagan’s coattails and was defeated four years later in 1992 because he was an inept, wimpy moderate. Then he had two of his sons run for governor in 1994, George won and Jeb lost. Jeb won four years later in 1998 while George was reelected. Then George ran for president in 2000 and barely squeaked by in a win, and also won barely four years later in 2004. George W. Bush, safely reelected then turned left as his father had before him, leaving the republican party split and in shambles in 2008. And now the Bush’s want another of their worthless, moderate, elitest bretheren to run for president.
NO THANK YOU! Forty years of you people’s lust for power is enough!!
Chick makes sense.
In other words, “Stay out the Bushes!”
He wouldn’t win anyway because 2016 is Hillarys year because as we have seen, she was a participant in two of the most corrupt Presidential administrations in history, she accomplished absolutely nothing as Senator and was an unmitigated disaster as Secretary of state, so therefore that qualifies her for the office of President.
I always liked Barbara. A smart, plain spoken woman.
People quickly forget what she said about Sarah Palin.
Amen.
I know what it's like to marry into a domineering clan. I love my inlaws, but no more family vacations with them. Too much walking on eggshells to avoid offending one of the clanmembers.
I'm now using my vacation time for my family. This summer, my youngest son and I are heading off on our own for two weeks. We'll be camping, hiking, fishing, and spending a few days with my sister and her family in Vegas.
July can't get here soon enough.
Stay out the Bushes!
While he MIGHT have been a darling to Florida and national conservatives, Jeb Bush is married to a native of Mexico (the daughter of a migrant worker). And before you scream “ethnocentric bigot” at me, there’s nothing inherently wrong with that. Love knows no bounds.
But that fact DOES predispose him to a warm and fuzzy feeling for folks from south of the Rio Grande.
And if — in some strange and metastasizing American desire to return to a royal family dynasty — Jeb or his son should win the White House in some future presidential beauty contest designed to divert the American electorate every four years, I’d bet that HIS activities toward this alien invasion will make W’s behavior look like a warm-up exercise.
Between the invasion from the south and the Muslim invasion, any vestige of European culture — the culture MY great-grandparents and probably yours brought here after standing in line at places like Ellis Island, being interrogated, deloused and recorded — will be a distant memory IF its remembered at all.
Bracing for FLAMES from the Bush people in here.
That settles it: he’s running. Not that there was any doubt after all the interviews, speeches, fund raising and fluffy reviews in Republican publications.
George Bush ... er Washington knows best himself....
Because she looks like George Washingtub....
Bar may be a pro-abortion RINO, but she is right on this issue.
No family dynasties!!!
What you said, Barbara.
