Well now online retailers will have to bone up on the sales tax rates for every county in every state in the Union. If you have ever filled out a sales tax form just for your own state you will know what a nightmare it is.
Between the sales tax and the shipping charges the internet will be killed. Great!!!!!!!!!
Actually, most internet retailers don’t do their own shopping cart or other financial mechanics of retailing. That’s a module or outsourced service they wire into their web site.
Same deal for the shipping charges.
That’s what makes ‘net retailing so fast and easy to set up. You can outsource the complications that used to take so much time to other providers that specialize in these matters and really know their subject area.
this is a political solution looking for a problem it created.
The goal is to have business begging congress for a uniform tax across the country.
Where is the house on this?
Do like we do and use sites where you can meet the person you want to exchange with in-person when possible, and deal direct, and avoid all the delivery middle man BS.
Or just stop buying so much crap. We reached a point long ago where if we don't absolutely needed it, we don't buy it and start fixing what ya already have, yourself. Etc., etc.
