Let’s parse this out. Obama said that Syrian use of chemical weapons would be “a red line in the sand.” Now Israel has doubtless given irrefutable evidence to the CIA indicating the red line has been passed. Obama has done and will do nothing. So, they’re coming down on Israel to keep Israel from making Obama look like exactly what he is; an empty shirt. (Possibly, empty pants.)
It’s easy enough to pick out chemical weapons use even from orbit, so if they have been used we can be certain that it was discussed in one of the intelligence briefings that Obama skipped.
Now, realistically, what would the US do? Isn’t going after WMD’s what got Bush so badly damaged by the press? (BTW, they were moved across the border into Syria.)
