(Reuters) - The city of Los Angeles will pay $4.2 million to a mother and daughter who were caught in a hail of bullets in February when police mistook their truck for one driven by renegade ex-policeman Christopher Dorner and opened fire, officials said on Tuesday.
The settlement, which allows both sides to avoid a trial, brings the Los Angeles Police Department nearer to closing what had been an embarrassing chapter in its search for Dorner. The department still is reviewing the actions of two officers.

Just one of those things, I mean man they were in hot pursuit, most like getting ready to lock down most of LA and do a house to house. You got to accept stuff like this if you want to be secure.
Once the gov agreed to 4.2 million i would of insisted, Yea, 4.2 Million IN MY BANK ACCOUNT.

What's the point? Without the slightest effort to confirm who it was that was driving down the street they just started shooting. One of them was shot twice...in the back. Their truck was riddled with bullets.

Who cares? The moron police fired on (2) innocent women just because they were in car that vaguely resembled the suspect auto. I'm sick of the "Protect and to Serve" idiot cops shooting dogs, breaking into the wrong house, and now shooting up old ladies.
There will come a day when some innocent homeowner shoots some stupid cop while thinking an intruder. Of course the homeowner will die, once the over-zealous SWAT shows up. Hope he takes some dumb-ass cop with him, if not warranted.
And yes, I mostly support LEO's, but they have gotten out of control.
The LAPD Police Union should PAY; out of the Members' Dues, IMHO.

What's wrong with you? These were (2) old ladies (no matter their ethnicity) delivering newspapers who were shot at by DUMB ASS cops who couldn't recognize the difference in automobiles. They deserve every dollar they can get.
