So, ACLU, are these searches still legal and constitutional? Shouldn’t they let the people stay in their homes to witness the searches, or do they want to ransack the places unobserved? Pretty cowardly for well-armored jackboots, I say.

What about having warrants before searching?

I understand that the perp may have forced himself into a person’s home and taken someone hostage. So in that case if I answered the door, if they weren’t pointing guns at me and yelling at me to get out, I would let them search FOR THE PERP ONLY. No need to treat me like a criminal in my own home and no need to look for anything other than the perp.
