WATERTOWN, MA -- On Friday, April 19, 2013, during a manhunt for a bombing suspect, police and federal agents spent the day storming people's homes and performing illegal searches. While it was unclear initially if the home searches were voluntary, it is now crystal clear that they were absolutely NOT voluntary. Police were filmed ripping people from their homes at gunpoint, marching the residents out with their hands raised in submission, and then storming the homes to perform their illegal searches.

This was part of a larger operation that involved total lockdown of the suburban neighbor to Boston. Roads were barricaded and vehicle traffic was prohibited. A No-Fly Zone was declared over the town. People were "ordered" to stay indoors. Businesses were told not to open. National Guard soldiers helped with the lockdown, and were photographed checking IDs of pedestrians on the streets. All the while, police were performing these disgusting house-to-house searches.

Practice for the coming gun confiscation. The sheeple submitted just as expected.
I agree with you... But what was the alternative?
Two points:
1) The 4th Amendment prohibits UNREASONABLE searches and seizures—not “illegal” searches and seizures.
2) The 4th Amendment does NOT say that no search may be conducted without a warrant. Read it. Carefully.
I agree with you... But what was the alternative?
My house, with a warrant they are welcome to execute it, but only to the letter. Without a warrant, the moment they step or reach across the threshold they are armed intruders and will be treated as such.

Totalitarian regimes are often created during a response to a security crisis. We’ve seen military juntas in Greece, the Phillipines, a number of South American countries, South Vietnam, South Korea, Thailand, Portugal, Pakistan. It is always claimed to be necessary to protect the nation from some declared crisis (often citizen protest against corrupt government) and to be temporary. It invariably ends up being brutally oppressive to perceived enemies of the state and with the totalitarian clinging to power. Of course it could “never” happen in the U.S.
Are you saying the police did not need warrants in this case?
If that is not what you're saying, explain your point.
Watertown is a neighborhood where many if not most can trace an ancestry back to Armenia. I wonder what the ancestors of the people of Watertown would think of this terrorization by Chechens.
What’s worse? A known terrorist that killed 4, maimed 100’s with two IED’s at a civilian event, running wild in a neighborhood......or civilians in that neighborhood fighting the police that are searching for known terrorist?
If the cops in these videos get away with all that, the communists and terrorists won...
Maybe the terrorist was going to blow something up, take hostages or get reinforcements...
I have seen the video folks. I notice it is only that house. I was given the impression they were going house to house but all I saw was 1 house. If I recall I saw that house in the news. I believe there was call supposedly someone thought that the suspect they were searching was hiding out in there. So of course Law Enforcement was not going to take a chance. When I saw the video for the first time, I was expecting to see cops go house to house and having residence with their hands up, but it wasn’t. It was focused on 1 house only.
What was the reason they were doing this?
Mark Belling ranted about this today on WISN.
The Boston cops with all of their numbers,.First they let Tsarnaev Jr.get away(how does that happen with nine million cops surrounding them?), then they didn’t make the perimeter wide enough, told people they could come out too soon and didn’t use DOGS!!!
Instead they conducted invasive home searches, engaging way too many officers who could have dispatched in a wider circle and hopefully found the murdering terrorist themselves and sooner!
FBI and Boston PD are patting each other other on the backs and the public is cheering them on..but truth be told, they bumbled the last 24 hours of their search pretty badly..
