Robert Huber seems to be a little puzzled that Mayor Michael Nutter is miffed at his article. My guess is Mr Huber and Mayor Nutter have different understandings of the words “Conversation” and “Dialog”. Mayor Nutter like most African-americans use the word “Dialog” when they really mean “Monologue”. See, just a misunderstanding.

What Nutter, and most black policians mean by "conversation" on race, is that blacks get to tell whites how everything wrong in the black community is the fault of whites, and then whites may get a few minutes to agree with what's said. When black policians talk about how we need to talk about black dysfunction affects all of us, what they mean is that whites are supposed to take responsibility for-and pick up the check-for the black dysfunction, not talk about how black dysfunction and violence is affecting the white community too.
What whites have to do is stop being too cowardly to just say that we have a point of view also, and it's a white point of view, just as they have a black point of view, and it's just as valid as the black POV. We have to stop being too cowardly to say that black violence is affecting whites, in that whites and other non-blacks have been targetted for black crimes, such as businesses looted and innocent victims assaulted by mobs purely based on being other than black. Whites have a stake in this besides just footing the bills and taking unfair blame.
