Hope this family gets something, a boat....

I think equity dictates that they be reimbursed for any property damage caused by the shootout. It is not the homeowner's fault a murdering scumbag decided to pick his boat to hide in, and the cops had no choice but to deal with him there.

Ideally, insurance would step up, but I would have no problem seeing some of my tax dollars used for this purpose. Whether or not anyone in government or law enforcement gives a damn is another matter entirely.
