Four reasons why the Boston bombing is more shocking than you think
Rare.US ^ | April 21, 2013 | Jim Robbins

Posted on 04/21/2013 8:32:57 AM PDT by Abakumov

Rather than what was hoped – that this was an isolated, spontaneous and inexplicable act by two troubled young men – it appears that the Boston bombing was part of a long term, well planned, large scale effort by Islamic terrorists with foreign ties to bring jihad to U.S. soil. And if the plot was that extensive, the two most important questions now are, how did the U.S. government fail to detect it, and what else do terrorists have planned for this country that we don’t know about?

We’ll see what Glenn Beck has to say tomorrow or Tuesday if he lives long enough.

There. Fixed...

I heard a statement from the Boston police chief on the radio this AM that they would now be looking for motive and otherwise completing their investigation, now that they had the 2nd suspect in custody.

MOTIVE!? THEY’RE ISLAMIC TERRORISTS, YA BIG DUMMY!

If there was any chance in hell that the Saudi guy might have been an accomplice of the two culprits, what would be the reason for the president's wife to pay him a visit in the hospital (assuming the report about her visit is accurate)?

No idea.

Why is the old guy with sun glasses in dark blue at the bottom of the picture smiling and looking in the direction of suspect 2 (white hat)? That is a strange reaction to have seconds after a bomb goes off.

On April 15th, I wrote: "If these devices came from designs from some website, whatever they were, they worked good enough and had to come from some experienced group with good designs. However, this also means whoever did it, was able to access some means for testing. In this day, having blasts going off on your property would attract some notice and be quite risky. Having access to a way for testing would be almost impossible. I just can’t imagine something working so well right out of the box, without being tested. In my opinion, making such successful devices is not simple. For that reason, it had to take someone with experience or someone who had access to some way of testing to prefect the performance of such a device. The latter makes it more unlikely. It is the person with experience that I say is the most likely and such came from a terrorist group that does such things frequently."

My analysis was correct. From the article:

"According to a report in the Mirror, an investigator said there is “no doubt the brothers were not acting alone. The devices used to detonate the two bombs were highly sophisticated and not the kind of thing people learn from Google. They were too advanced. Someone gave the brothers the skills and it is now our job to find out just who they were. Agents think the sleeper cell has up to a dozen members and has been waiting several years for their day to come.”

From Article:

“Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick said Sunday it’s hard to imagine why someone would deliberately harm, “innocent men, women and children in the way that these two fellows did.” But if you accept the jihadist premise it is actually very easy to understand.”

I'm not dismissing this statement out of hand, but I'd really like to see what evidence this author has to support this claim. The stories about this incident as I've seen them to date actually indicate the exact opposite. I had middle-school classmates who probably could have done exactly what these guys did in Boston -- and they wouldn't have even needed the help of their own parents, let alone a well planned effort with foreign assistance.

I've seen various reports citing unnamed sources claiming group involvement and not just something "middle school kids" would do. Here's one example...

A good start would be to quit putting stupid fat women in charge of our National Security.

I agree, however, there are also the spooky looking white guys working for govenrment.

Remember Bush's Homeland Security boss, Chertoff?

During war time, it was discovered Chertoff had people who'd entered the country illegally, wandering around the inside of his freaking private residence.

Homeland Security?

I wonder if this will change any minds here in the NE.

They still have no clue. They've been told to think that there is no apparent motive.

In my opinion, as long as Dear Leader is in the WH, nothing will be done to clamp down on the Islamic terror networks here in the USA, not to mention in the Middle Eastern countries.

If it comes out the Saudi in the Hx was an accomplice, thar would mean Moochie could be indicted. She is a common US citizen.

So, who's going to indict her? Holder? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!

A good start would be to quit putting stupid fat women in charge of our National Security. Another idea would be to quit recruiting clueless dopey college kids into the Federal Police and National intelligence services.

LOL. Is she really fat?

The reality is that we can do nothing to prevent these unless we start deporting these young men and denying them citizenship. In this instance, it sounds like he was radicalized after his initial entry and his citizenship.

In 2011, if the FBI spoke to him and started watching him they may not have had enough to move forward with revocation of citizenship and deportation. We don’t know what information they had or when they had it. If he were recently radicalized it may have been after 2011. There are tens of thousands of these young men throughout America who identify themselves as Islamic.

We can’t demand the FBI and HSI (immigration) prevent these unless they are allowed to deport radical muslims. They can’t win for losing - deport them and face the anger of political correctness and accusations of discrimination - don’t deport them and it’s impossible to monitor the intent. What can they do? If Congress and the executive branch don’t change the law they must have absolute proof - this is one reason I think the FBI has relied so heavily on stings where the target acts on his statements.

I would support deportation of every religious advisor and influence upon these two. Our leaders won’t nor would a Judge because too many of these folks are citizens. The firestorm that would create would quickly make the government back down because it would be perceived as discrimination.

We are stuck in a crazy world of political correctness and as long as we import thousands of young Muslims, fail to monitor them in true big brother fashion, and we allow Mosque to preach hatred of America this is what will happen. Let’s tell the truth, the leftists academic institutions in Boston may be more vitriolic towards America than their religious leaders.

As much as some deny this - it’s not just the Islamists either although the radical jihadists types present the largest threat.

There is the white supremacist piece of crap who tried something similar recently. Short of depriving all of us of our freedom and hiring thousands more agents to do domestic intelligence that we would all hate and resent we must admit that we can’t prevent all of these in a free society.
