Boston bomber's US citizenship bid 'rejected after background check'

Boston marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s application for US citizenship was reportedly rejected after US officials carried out a background check that showed he had been interviewed in 2011 by the FBI.

An official told the New York Times that the Department of Homeland Security halted – at least temporarily – the application after the FBI interview of Tamerlan Tsarnaev was discovered in a routine background check.

It had been previously reported that the application might have been held up because of a domestic abuse incident.

Federal law enforcement officials said on Friday that the FBI interviewed Tamerlan Tsarnaev in January 2011 at the request of Russian authorities, who suspected that he had ties to Chechen terrorists.

Investigators were turning their attention to the time Tamerlan Tsarnaev spent in Dagestan in 2012. Kevin R. Brock, a former senior FBI and counterterrorism official, said: “It’s a key thread for investigators and the intelligence community to pull on.”

Tamerlan Tsarnaev, a 26-year-old ethnic Chechen and one of two brothers suspected of carrying out Monday’s twin bombings at the Boston Marathon, died early on Friday after a shoot-out with police.

He was white, you would think ICE would have deported his sorry rear end since they like to make a big deal out of deporting white folks who over stay their visas by one day....

Oh it must have been something else on that form that prevented ICE from deporting the scum bag....

Is there a box for “religion” on those immigration forms, one has to wonder...

No, one doesn't have to wonder. Just download the form.

I've completed several of them over the years. There is no question or box for religion.

These Muslim names confuse me. Can’t we just call them “white hat and blue hat”?

OR “Timberland” and “Dockers”. Good names for jack booted thugs.

The FBI knew about this cat for awhile. The bombs were simply more powerful than expected and killed 3 people and injured many others ... maybe the agent who supplied the brothers with the bombs was a double agent and put in dynamite instead of a firecracker ... somebody has some ‘splainin to do... just sayin ...

If you want to understand the name, look up Timurlame, or Timur the Lame. I haven’t seen it mentioned, but it seems likely that is who he was named after.

The F, the B, and the I were too busy investigating the Tea Party and covering the "Justice" Department's back side in the wake of the Fast & Furious scandal and blackmailing Republican congressmen to bother pulling Islamic terrorist threads.

Speaking after Dzhokhar’s capture, President Obama said there were still many unanswered questions. “Among them, why did young men who grew up and studied here as part of our communities and our country resort to such violence?” He said the families of those killed deserve answers.

omgawd! i cannot believe this is the leader of the United States of America! they resorted to "such violence" because they HATE America, just like you do, you evil moron of a presdient! ugh... unless we really make noise, like we did with the anti-gun legislation, we are in trouble...

I'd be more apt to believe they slipped them dud explosives.

Who would take all the risks to knowingly plant such an underpowered bomb?

It's not like the FBI has no history of such shenanigans.

SOMEONE provided them with inert explosives!

Yes. That and the fact that the Obama administration has SLASHED budget for domestic bombing prevention by 45 per cent…

... well ... he died when his own brother, Terrorist #2, ran over him and dragged him through the streets of Boston.

AGAIN...you have to go to British newspapers to find out what’s going on in the US!

This time the Telegraph, earlier this week it was the Daily Mail and the Daily Mirror.

To be used in investigations against other radicals and cells operating in the US and probably in Russia, probably at the Russian government’s request.

This story gets worse everyday. The FBI really screwed up here. It almost makes DEBKA’s double agents gone wrong story seem plausible. I don’t actually think that though. I think this was sheer incompetence and probable political correctness gone amok.
