Brothers in Marathon bombings took two paths into infamy
Boston Globe ^ | April 19th 2013 | Jenna Russell

Posted on 04/21/2013 4:48:17 AM PDT by the scotsman

The two young brothers from Cambridge seemed to be on promising paths, one a scholarship student at college, the other fighting for a national title in amateur boxing.

And then, apparently with little warning, they veered violently off track, deep into the darkness, setting off deadly bombs, authorities are convinced, at one of Boston’s most iconic and joyful events.

To those who knew them, the apparent transformation of Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19 — ethnic Chechens, born in the former Soviet territory now known as Kyrgyzstan and transplanted to a working-class Inman Square neighborhood — seemed almost inconceivable.

But as friends and neighbors pieced together recollections of the terrorism suspects and their family, a picture emerged of an older brother who seemed to grow increasingly religious and radical — and who may have drawn his more easygoing younger brother into a secret plot of violence and hatred.'

A humaine side, gag me. Why did the FBI interview him 2 years ago? Were they scouting?

The Boston Globe ALWAYS tries to give sympathy to
Islamic rapists, terrorists, and murderers.

It is the way of the New York Times and Boston Globe.

The terrorist training was from their Mosque.
And in response to the latest atrocity, the pRes_ _ent and the US Congress will dare to call
these murders 'the new normal'.

“...little warning...”

These things just don’t pop up on a lazy weekend conversation...it’s been planned - they were trained - they plotted...and through whatever means - played the part of regular citizens until the time of attack...geez, another fluffy news story on “they had it all - but decided to go jihad” life’s dilemma....Here’s a BIG secret everyone should know: This event will be played out more and more across the US and Europe - this is the true nature of ISLAM - they want to dominate and advance and care nothing about the lives ruined on either side to accomplish it!

“And then, apparently with little warning, they veered violently off track, deep into the darkness, setting off deadly bombs”

Actually, there was warning. Russian authorities tipped off the FBI in 2011 that the older brother was a militant Islamist. A nation like Russia that has dealt with Chechen Islamists knows what they are talking about, and for our FBI to not investigate far more closely is pathetic. I’m guessing that political correctness may have compromised what should have been a thorough investigation, but we don’t want to think bad thoughts about those Muslims now, do we?

Our immigration and intel policies will continue to fail and bring down this nation until we can be honest in discussing who should and shouldn’t be in this nation.

Apparently, our FBI is more interested in protecting their careers and cushy retirement benefits than crossing this dangerous cabal infesting our current government. The American citizen has no protection against terror.

What do you say that for? I do not think it means what you think it means.

Golly gee. What went wrong?

Can't the MSM find photos of the "boys" when they were nine or ten years old?

Normally they use those photos to accompany their articles advocating public sympathy.

Sorry but I can't read this Boston GLOB 'carp'.

So I'm going to guess that 'it wasn't their fault', they were 'good kids', and 'honor students', who got 'mixed up in the wrong crowd'.

There’s a line in this article about how the NY Times obtained the younger brother’s college transcript.
Which proves the media CAN get a transcript—when they want to. With the golfer-in-chief, they don’t want to.

BTW, notice something 'odd' about the oldest brother? ... I did ... from the get-go of him being ID'd -- his first name: Tamerlan. IMHO, most of us 'older folks' should have noted that immediately as we had to learn that History stuff in school.

Tamerlan is just an modern version of Tamerlane whose real name was: Timur, Tarmashirin Khan, Emir Timur, aka: Timur The Lame (Tamerlane) 1336–1405. As we know (right?), after Genghis Khan, Tamerlane was prolly the baddest mf'er in history with approx 17 million kills.

So this 'kid' was kinda groomed from the start to be a terrorist. Otherwise why would mom and dad name him after one of the meanest Terrorists in history?

The stories of the these two young murderers are similar to stories I've read about leftist radicals. Many of the latter grew up in well-to-do homes given all the comforts and perks of growing up rich in America. Many of the leftist radicals were gifted students as well seemingly on their way to the good life. Think Ted Kaczynksi.

Then something happened. They turned radical and violent. They began hating the country that had given the path to a comfortable life in the freeest country in the world. My own conclusion is that radical Islam is not much different from radical leftism. Two insane, unworkable ideologies that turn would be normal people into violent sociopaths.

Spot on.

Also, neither brother Americanized their names, even though

they were here for over ten years.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev had done well academically in high school, but The New York Times reported that he was failing many of his courses at UMass Dartmouth. The Times said a school transcript showed seven failing grades over two semesters in 2012 and 2013, including Fs in Principles of Modern Chemistry, Intro American Politics, and Chemistry and the Environment. According to the transcript, Tsarnaev got a B in Critical Writing and a D and D-plus in two other courses.
