The economic impact of the Boston Marathon bomb suspect manhunt could run into the billions of dollars, according to one expert, as a million city residents were stuck at home, stores were shuttered and public transit ground to a halt.
Boston businesses were advised to remain closed, city employees were told to stay home or remain in place at work, vehicular traffic was limited and travel into the city via Amtrak and discount bus lines was suspended.

Maybe they should stay shut down for another week. You know, just in case. There COULD be another bomb or bomber out there. And since the entire populace of Boston is apparently incapable of defending themselves, I really think another week indoors hiding under the bed would be prudent.
All done by 2 inbred muslim pukes.
I already figured this out yesterday.
Even before this our Governor,a close pal of the Community Organizer-In-Chief himself, proposed $2 billion a year in new taxes...including subjecting any profit you may have made on the sale of your house to the state’s sales tax.His response to this story? “OK,let’s make it 4 billion”.
Who were trained, funded and commanded by Osama Obama's successor. We mustn't forget that.
Pulling families out of their beds in the middle of the night? Telling them they can't go to work, or to their place of business, or COME HOME, or even go to the store? There was no pandemic. There was no threat of a nuclear bomb. It was a 19-year-old punk with a IED in his backpack! This was a police-state crime against humanity.
I'll go further: This was just a dress rehearsal for Obama's new urban renewal plan: you go where we tell you to go. THAT IS NOT AMERICA. May God judge the men who did this.
Meanwhile, the terrorists spent 500 bucks on their operation.
jihad (advance$)
Hiding under the bed. LOL!
If they planned to buy a tv Wednesday they will buy it tomorrow. No loss
I would take the numbers with a grain of salt, because people make up for lost time once things get back to normal. Not much different from shutting down during a snowstorm.
At that rate (e.g., $B/terrorist) it wouldn’t take that many jihadists to help Obama more rapidly bankrupt the nation.
How is this different than a big blizzard?
I predict Senator Warren will introduce a bill calling for relief funding for Boston-area businesses and citizens affected by the bombing and its aftermath. It seems as though every time something bad happens in this country, the response in Congress is to provide a relief bill.
Probably werent alone under the bed, how many kids gonna be born 9 months from now and on the system. O i forgot they have the morning after pill now for free.
You know something... i hadn’t even thought of that. I think you’re absolutely right. We’ll start hearing about all the suffering in Boston, and the need for emergency relief.
Of course they’ll expect the rest of the country to pony up the dough.
And there’ll have to be new federal taxes and programs to ready all liberal cities to implement the “Hide under your bed, there’s a muslim terrorist loose” response.
