John,
The Constitution doesn't say anything about wiretapping or any number of other things that nobody had thought of at the time either. In general I feel that the Federal Government has been allowed to become way too powerful and oppressive in any number of ways.

I also fear that at some point certain elements of government are more interested in using their power to crush conservatives, Christians and all us other “right wing extremists” they keep chattering about.

However, and this is a big however, we are at war with Islamic Radicals that want to kill us. It doesn't matter if you, the government or anyone else doesn't acknowledge that, it is a fact and has been for some time. It doesn't matter that many refuse to accept that and as such will allow those enemies to roll over us, but I refuse to stick my head in the sand and ignore the threat. They declared war on us whether we like it or not.

Bitter... all of the wiretapping laws contravene the 4th Amendment but yes they’ve been ignoring the constitution far too long and as result we have a government that has run amok and is out of control.

Dont blame me for that!

I’m here trying to make the argument that we as conservatives should fight back and take those powers back.

I’m under no illusion that this will make me unpopular here. I’m new and so far haven’t had a hard time but because I’m strict about the Constitution which I believe to be an amazing document then it forces me to take unpopular positions.

I am so pleased to see many freepers agree me with and those who don’t seem to be open to what I’m saying... I wont win you all over but I don’t intend to give up defending freedom and liberty unless Jim tells me to sit it out!
