Well the camp’s seen better days, but we’re doing our best to bring everything up to code. We got the electricity to all the cabins squared away today, fixed a few gutters and did cosmetic repairs. The chapel has been cleaned (lots of ladybugs), the Kitchen/dinning room is finally up to par and we got the pool and snack bar ready today. Last week we got the former proprieter’s cabin ready to rent out to a family so that someone will live there year round. By next Saturday we’ll be painting and mowing again and by mid-May we’re open for young campers. The season is already booked solid by chruches around the tri-state, except for the week of July 4 which we’ll probably take for our kids if there’s enough interest. We have between 20 and 30 youngins in Sunday School and Jr. Church and probably another dozen from Master Club, so if we can round up 18 or 20 over the holiday we’ll do good. The best part is the place is paying for itself this year and we may be able to do some major renovations for next year. I’m trying to round up a certified NRA instructor so we can put a shooting range on our 40 acres and teach the kids gun safety.
