Cut the uncle some slack

Having worked closely with dozens of muslims in high workload conditions, i am more than aware of their propensity to lie or shall we say "omit" the truth. The passion of which the uncle speaks is culturally normal. In fact he is rather calm relatively speaking.

Besides, do not many of us (non Muslims) wonder aloud who among them will condem such behavior? So when one does, speak out, you and others dismiss it out of hand? Kinda hard to move the dialog when that attitude dominates the conversation.

2,2 Billion Muslims in the world, as human beings, am sure there are at least a dozen trying to do good.

I tend to agree, very rarely do you hear this kind of condemnation from fellow Muslims. Unfortunately, since he stuck his neck out, he will prolly end up getting his head cut off by another Muslim.

Well worth repeating. The uncle sounded like he absolutely deplored the activities of his nephews. He obviously couldn't understand why these jackasses would turn against a country that had given as much to them as the U.S. had. The uncle actually sounded like a hard-working immigrant who was grateful to be in the U.S., and appeared to be at a complete loss to understand the actions of his estranged nephews.

We will do well to remember that just because we have a President with a Muslim name who would rather climb a 200' tree to tell a lie rather than stand flat-footed on the ground and tell the truth doesn't mean that every other Muslim in the world is a liar also.

Because of the principle of taqiyya, you cannot ever trust any Muslim, even if you've known him forever. Hopefully he's a MINO, but you can't bank on that.
