Iraq was on the State Department's list of state sponsors of terrorism for over a decade. Saddam had invaded Iran and Kuwait. He was seeking WMD. The idea that we could allow Saddam to remain in power while fighting the war on terror is nonsense. Given the huge oil revenue and his two crazy sons, we would have had to confront Saddam sooner or later.
