MIT issued an emergency alert at 10:48 on Thursday night reporting shots fired on the university campus. The school newspaper reports, "Shots fired near 32 Vassar St (Stata Center), police officer down. Please stay inside." That report is backed up by CBS News's Bonney Kapp who reports hearing "officer down" on the police scanner just before the MIT alert went out. For now, details are scarce, but the suspect is on the loose and considered armed and extremely dangerous.

Heard same. Per MA State Police, the officer did not survive injuries.
So sad.sounds pretty crazy.

Some idiot thought this was a good nite to rob a 7-eleven. Guess he hadn't noticed the increased police presence in the area.... that is until he ran into an MIT police officer. He shot the officer and fled toward the river and the kids are on lockdown until they find the shooter.
Sadly the police officer passed away.

I think some cop was handed some pictures of perp by someone...seems to think it is a match. Not sure where in Boston he was.

Some guy is at doubletree hotel dropped off. Dark skinned white male..trimmed goatee...Mercedes ..I think this thing is heating up. In Cambridge.middle eastern men..had guns....made man drive around city for awhile.....need to be listening folks.
