The latest partisan slugfest to take place in the Democratic-held Colorado legislature is shaping up to be about election reform, with Democrats preparing to introduce a bill mandating that every registered voter be allowed to cast a ballot by mail and allowing new voters to register through Election Day.
After a brief lull in partisan bickering that has dominated the legislative session mostly over gun control battle lines are again being drawn, with Republicans described by the Durango Herald as livid over the proposed legislation.
Republican Secretary of State Scott Gessler who sued two Democratic-majority counties before the last election to prevent them from mailing ballots to inactive voters told a reporter for the Denver Post that he was in full honey badger mode, referencing the nickname he earned for his willingness to stand his ground and fight.

Brazen in your face election fraud.
The commie ‘RATS have to rely heavily on voter fraud to “win” in states like Colorado. This is just another page out of the ‘RATS’ Banana Republic Elections for Dummies handbook.
The Kalifornication of Colorado continues.
There is no right to vote in the original Constitution, and no amendment passed so far (including the Poll Tax Amendment)would prohibit a state from disenfranchising anyone based on their receiving welfare or Public Assistance.
Class Warfare is a two way street.
Pass a law and require everyone to re-register, then deny all the welfare cases, unemployed, food stampers, the whole lot.
Collapse is inevitable if the current electorate is allowed to continue to vote for marxists.
This is the only solution.
You can't educate parasites, and the Founders had no intention of enfranchising all and instituting Universal Suffrage, which is the reason we are where we are today.
Giving everyone a right to vote creates a Democracy, and a political class which will pander to the parasites in exchange for power.
The Founders were brilliant men who understood history and the mistakes made by previous civilizations, mistakes which led to the demise of those civilizations.
I do not say that democracy has been more pernicious on the whole, and in the long run, than monarchy or aristocracy. Democracy has never been and never can be so durable as aristocracy or monarchy; but while it lasts, it is more bloody than either. Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide. It is in vain to say that democracy is less vain, less proud, less selfish, less ambitious, or less avaricious than aristocracy or monarchy. It is not true, in fact, and nowhere appears in history. Those passions are the same in all men, under all forms of simple government, and when unchecked, produce the same effects of fraud, violence, and cruelty. When clear prospects are opened before vanity, pride, avarice, or ambition, for their easy gratification, it is hard for the most considerate philosophers and the most conscientious moralists to resist the temptation. Individuals have conquered themselves. Nations and large bodies of men, never. John Adams, letter to John Taylor (15 April 1814).
Democracy will prevail when men believe the vote of Judas as good as that of Jesus Christ.

IS all Bs!! No ID no vote. Voter regristration closed 5 days prior to election!
Absentee votes to be in 5 days before election!
Dems want to be able to run bus loads of unregistered voters in on election day.
There is no need for that. Everyone knows when the Election is and it’s their duty as a voter to be sure thay can vote!
This cat is gearing up for the Amnestey Vote! Fo Sho!
Thanks Texas Fossil.
I’m looking for the ‘RATS to try to pass a year round “voting” bill. You just vote whenever you get the urge. DemocRATS love to “vote”.
CO is gone. Too many illegals and Californians have flooded in. There won’t be any going back.
Pass a law and require everyone to re-register, then deny all the welfare cases, unemployed, food stampers, the whole lot.

I'd have argued with you long and hard five years ago, Rome2000; today, I'll add this: only property owners can register to vote, and all others need to sit down, shut up, and mind their manners.
Great letter.
It is fact.
We are not and have never been a Democracy. We were formed as a Republic. (Republican name is now prostituted) Texas was a Republic before it was a state. It was never a democracy.
The founders held in contempt the idea that democracy was a legitimate form of government. They knew better. Today it is a very very few who understand this.
I recently told this to a nurse friend of mine. She cared for my mother before she died and is a great person and nurse. She looked at me as if she could not believe what I had said. Total disbelief. I quoted to her:
“A democracy ... can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largess of the public treasury”
She said in response: “That is where we are today”
I was surprised she understood, but she did.
Hahaha—I feel the urge To Vote
Democrats moving to consolidate power like California. Look for year round voting.
The ‘RATS call it “recreational voting”. LOL! Vote early, vote often.
I copied into a spreadsheet the list of Senators and Legislatures in CO (with district, email, etc). Would it be a useful tool if I made a HTML table with the votes cast in the gun legislation?
I have done that before for the US Congress.
Not sure it is worth the effort it was largely along party lines with a few Dems opting out. But I am willing if you think it might be a tool.
The Colorado Senate & Legislature website does not allow easy search of bills and roll call votes. I did find a Denver Post descriptions of the variances from party line vote and from that it would be easy to create the table.
I can also send the spreadsheet to anyone else who wants it via email.
That’s a very thoughtful and kind offer, Texas Fossil. But I think you are right that it probably wouldn’t be worth your effort.
You’ve certainly done a lot of work on this and are to be commended.
Again, thank you very much.
Consequence of Socialism is collapse. Then despotism.
Totalitarianism in all it’s forms is Evil.

You’re exactly right on all counts.
Actually it was not that complicated. The data from the website copied into my spreadsheet with the internal links embedded.
So if you click on the member name it takes you to a profile page on the State Gov website. Pretty cool.
When I did this for the US Congress I did the same thing from GovTrack. Worked beautifully. They had an elaborate profile page on each member. Was not able to do that for the US Senate.
Now if I did it for Colorado and posted it here on FR, it would include each member’s name, district, email address and I would add the voting record on the 4 gun bills.
I have CO friends that are hopping mad at these idiots. Smoke um out.
